Description
A quick, smoky, and buttery shrimp dish grilled in foil with garlic, lemon, and a hint of spice. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or weekend entertaining, this American classic offers tender shrimp infused with rich, aromatic flavors in under 25 minutes.
Ingredients
Large shrimp, 1.5 pounds (16/20 count, deveined and shell-on)
Unsalted butter, 6 tbsp (divided)
Garlic cloves, 4 (minced)
Lemon, 1 (juiced and zested)
Red pepper flakes, 1/4 tsp (or paprika for mild heat)
Instructions
Melt 6 tbsp butter with minced garlic in microwave for 1 minute. Let cool 5 minutes to prevent raw garlic flavor.
Lay four 12-inch foil sheets. Divide shrimp among sheets. Spoon 1/4 cup garlic butter over each, sprinkling red pepper flakes.
Fold edges twice to seal tightly. Make 3 small slits on top for steam. Brush exterior with remaining butter and lemon zest.
Preheat grilling surface or fireplace to 375°F. Cook foil packs over flame for 10 minutes.
Notes
Peak Through-Binding: Check shrimp opacity before fully opaque.
Double Foil for Heat Control: Use two layers if grilling over open flame.
Enhance Garlic Caramelization: Add 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup.
Custom Flavor Boosters: Add shallots (1 tbsp), thyme, or tarragon.
