Description

This ham and cheese breakfast strata is a creamy, make-ahead casserole layered with eggs, bread, ham, and cheese. Perfect for brunch or holidays.


Ingredients

Scale

8 large eggs

2 cups milk

1 cup half-and-half

8 cups cubed French bread

2 cups diced cooked ham

1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup shredded Swiss cheese

½ small onion, diced

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp pepper

2 tbsp chopped parsley


Instructions

1. Grease 9×13 dish.

2. Layer half the bread, ham, and cheese.

3. Repeat layers.

4. Whisk eggs, milk, and seasoning.

5. Pour evenly over bread mixture.

6. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

7. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.

8. Cool, garnish, and serve warm.

Notes

Use day-old bread for best texture.

Freeze baked portions up to 2 months.
