Description

Spicy Brown Sugar Corned Beef and Cabbage slow cooked until tender and finished with a sweet and spicy glaze.


Ingredients

Scale

3–4 lb corned beef brisket

4 cups beef broth

1 lb baby potatoes

4 carrots

1 onion

1 small cabbage

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 tbsp Dijon mustard

1 tsp red pepper flakes

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

1 tsp hot sauce


Instructions

1. Rinse corned beef.

2. Place onion and brisket in slow cooker.

3. Add broth, potatoes, and carrots.

4. Cook on low for 480 minutes.

5. Add cabbage last 90–120 minutes.

6. Mix glaze ingredients.

7. Remove brisket and pat dry.

8. Spread glaze evenly.

9. Bake at 400°F for 15–20 minutes.

10. Rest, slice against grain, and serve.

Notes

Cook on low for best tenderness.

Slice against the grain.

Broil briefly for extra caramelization.
