Description

Traditional Shepherd’s Pie with Creamy Mashed Potatoes made with savory lamb, vegetables, and rich gravy topped with fluffy golden mash.


Ingredients

Scale

lbs ground lamb

1 tbsp olive oil

1 onion, diced

2 carrots, chopped

2 cloves garlic

2 tbsp tomato paste

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 cup beef broth

1 tsp thyme

½ tsp salt

½ tsp pepper

1 cup frozen peas

2 lbs Yukon gold potatoes

4 tbsp butter

½ cup warm milk

½ tsp salt


Instructions

1. Boil potatoes 15–18 minutes.

2. Mash with butter, milk, and salt.

3. Cook onion and carrots.

4. Add garlic.

5. Brown lamb and drain fat.

6. Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire, and broth.

7. Simmer 10 minutes.

8. Add peas.

9. Transfer to baking dish.

10. Top with mashed potatoes.

11. Bake at 400°F for 20–25 minutes.

Notes

Let rest 10 minutes before serving.

Create fork ridges for crisp top.
