Description
Indulge in a rich, chocolatey treat that pushes the boundaries of traditional baking. By incorporating Dr Pepper, these brownies achieve a distinctively moist and fudgy crumb that sets them apart from standard cocoa recipes. The carbonation and unique flavor profile of the soda react beautifully with high-quality cocoa powder, resulting in an intense depth of flavor and a soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture that is perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1.5 cups granulated sugar
0.75 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
0.5 cup Dr Pepper
0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
2 large eggs, room temperature
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
0.25 tsp fine sea salt
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Line a 9-by-9-inch metal square pan with parchment paper.
Combine the melted butter and white sugar in a large glass bowl.
Whisk the eggs into the mixture one at a time until fully incorporated.
Stir in the Dr Pepper soda and vanilla extract until the mixture is uniform.
Sift the flour, cocoa powder, and salt together in a separate bowl.
Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
Bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs.
Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before slicing into 16 squares.
Notes
Ensure the Dr Pepper is at room temperature before adding to the butter to prevent it from seizing.Dutch-process cocoa powder is highly recommended for a darker, deeper chocolate flavor. Store these in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
