Description
This halal-friendly and vegan-adaptable recipe delivers juicy, golden-brown chicken thighs with a crispy garlic-butter glaze using an air fryer. Minimal oil ensures a rich, savory dish with a luxuriously crisped exterior.
Ingredients
4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
2 tbsp unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp onion powder
Instructions
Pat chicken dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, onion powder, and half the garlic. Let rest 10 minutes.
Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
Place chicken skin-side up in basket (do not overcrowd). Cook 10 minutes.
Flip chicken and cook 8 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Melt butter with remaining garlic in microwave or sauté pan.
Brush melted butter mixture generously over warmed chicken skin.
Return to air fryer for final 2 minutes to glaze.
Notes
Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F.
Let chicken rest for 2 minutes before glazing for better absorption.
Melt butter until runny but not browned for even coverage.
Swap unsalted butter for clarified butter or plant-based alternatives to align with halal or vegan preferences.
For a leaner option, use boneless skinless chicken breasts and adjust cooking time to 12 minutes per side.
