Heart shaped chocolate cake with soft layers and rich frosting perfect for Mother’s Day celebrations.
Ingredients
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
¾ cup cocoa powder
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup milk
½ cup vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 ½ tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 cup hot coffee
1 cup butter
3 cups powdered sugar
½ cup cocoa powder
2 tbsp milk
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease pans
2. Mix dry ingredients
3. Whisk eggs and sugar
4. Add milk oil and vanilla
5. Combine dry ingredients
6. Stir in hot coffee
7. Bake 28–30 minutes
8. Cool and frost cake
Notes
Use fresh berries for decoration
Cool cake completely before frosting
