Description

These creative and festive Pumpkin Chocolate Covered Strawberries are the perfect seasonal treat for any autumn gathering. By combining fresh, firm strawberries with a vibrant orange candy shell and detailed dark chocolate faces, you achieve the look of professionally-made jack-o’-lanterns. They are simple to prepare, require no tempering of chocolate, and provide a balanced bite of sweet candy shell against the fresh, slightly tangy fruit. This visually striking dessert is sure to be the centerpiece of your fall party table.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb Fresh Strawberries
12 oz Orange Candy Melts
2 oz Dark Chocolate
1 tsp Coconut Oil

Instructions

Wash the strawberries under cool running water to remove debris.
Dry the strawberries completely using paper towels to ensure the candy adheres properly.
Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Melt the orange candy wafers in a microwave-safe bowl in thirty-second intervals, stirring between each.
Dip each strawberry into the melted orange candy by holding the green stem.
Place the coated berries onto the prepared baking sheet and let them set.
Melt the dark chocolate with the coconut oil until smooth.
Transfer the dark chocolate into a piping bag or a small plastic bag with the corner snipped off.
Pipe small triangles for eyes and a curved line for a mouth on each strawberry to create a pumpkin face.

Notes

Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping, as any moisture will cause the candy coating to seize or slide off. Store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours if not serving immediately. You can substitute orange candy melts with white chocolate tinted with food-grade oil-based coloring if needed.
