Description
This authentic, keto-friendly tzatziki sauce is a creamy and refreshing Mediterranean condiment. Made with thick full-fat Greek yogurt, crisp English cucumber, aromatic garlic, and fresh dill, it is the perfect low-carb dip for vegetables or a healthy topping for grilled chicken. The secret to this recipe is the meticulous removal of cucumber moisture, ensuring a thick, luxurious texture every time.
Ingredients
2 cups full-fat plain Greek yogurt
1 medium English cucumber, shredded
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
0.5 teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
Shred the cucumber using the coarse side of a box grater.
Place shredded cucumber in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze firmly over the sink until all visible moisture is removed.
Transfer the dried cucumber shreds into a medium mixing bowl.
Add the Greek yogurt to the bowl with the cucumber.
Stir in the minced garlic, chopped fresh dill, olive oil, and lemon juice.
Mix until uniform, season with sea salt to taste, and chill for at least one hour before serving.
Notes
Ensure you squeeze the cucumber thoroughly to prevent the sauce from becoming watery. This sauce keeps well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
